Series: Purpose Discovery and Fulfillment

Finding your niche in purpose

Niche: Any position of opportunity for which one is well-suited, such as a particular market in business.

Looking at this definition of niche, it means that we are looking for the area in which one is well suited in purpose. That is: finding a unique spot in purpose.

We will all agree with me that people being able to define their specific purpose on earth is like one of the most difficult things nowadays, the world where it is very difficult to stand out and be unique.

Excerpt:

So I checked the dictionary and I found the closest meaning of niche that we can use for today's study which is:

Niche: Any position of opportunity for which one is well-suited, such as a particular market in business.

Looking at this definition of niche, it means that we are looking for the area in which one is well suited in purpose. That is: finding a unique spot in purpose.

We will all agree with me that people being able to define their specific purpose on earth is like one of the most difficult things nowadays, the world where it is very difficult to stand out and be unique.

...Everyone is just navigating through life the way it comes to them.

This is because only the creator actually knows fully one's purpose on earth and most times, we fail to connect with him, and also there are a lot of distractions and issues of life getting in the way.

The creator knew what he had in mind when he put all those part of you together to become one piece. Sincerely, every single soul has a unique purpose on earth, there is no two way about it.

Two or more people might have the same gifts, talents, skills, physique, Intelligence and so on.....

But no two people are required to use the combination of these instruments the same way.

Yes, they are all instruments to the fulfillment of one's unique purpose. Everything man has been blessed with are equipment to get things done.

I must say, that before one can grasp fully why on Earth he or she is here, he must look deep down and reconcile all that has been given unto him.

Where it all connects together and strikes something common is the spot we are looking for.

It all starts from knowing yourself fully.

What's your personality?

What's your role?

What are your physical, intellectual and spiritual gifts and talents?

What are your skills?

What are your interests?

What are your dislikes?

You must be able to answer these questions confidently first, then the journey to self discovery begins, it is this discovery that leads to actualization of purpose.

We all know that if the purpose of a thing is unknown, abuse is inevitable.

Therefore, you must be aware of why all that has been given unto you has been given, it is then you begin to learn how to execute them, where exactly you should use them, and what exactly you should use them for.

I must also say that there's a level of self discovery no mentor, no role model, no pastor, no Imam, no spiritual leader can reveal to you, it comes with a deep connection with your inner self.

What these people do majorly is to guide one through....

So many people are looking for straight answers no one can give them. While these answers lies within them.

The movement of your body parts are all results of the inner system put into place right? So is your Purpose niche, it should be an execution of the inner system put into place. This inner system is your design. I.e: the specific way you have been wired to fit into exactly what you were born for.

Purpose is about Serving others with the whole of our being. How then do we hope to achieve this when we don't even know what our being is all about.

At the end of the day, we end up confusing people and confusing ourselves.

We must make peace with ourselves, understand ourselves fully and discover who we really are, then begin to connect it with the world.

This way, our unique spot will remain ours, just like no two people have the same finger print, no two people have the same spot. Never be afraid to be you when you discover you. It is the real you that the world needs.

I will like to stop there, please any questions or contributions before I drop my action point for this session?

This is my action point: Take a personality and role test to understand the kind of person you we are, how you can manage it and how you can contribute your quota to the world according to your role.

If you are interested in this test and you will like your test results to be analyzed, please indicate so I can add you to a WhatsApp group where that can be done.

Thank you for your time.

Question :

Talking about your unique purpose. Can you compete in purpose?

I love to network and partner like-minds doing great stuffs that are impacting lives, but some folks have the attitude of negativity that they think you want to outshine them or steal their vision or something.

I have had that experience with a highly successful lady who feels threatened by what I'm doing because it's in line with her vision and get offended with it.

Answer :

Wow!!! I love this question.

It's actually very rampant these days

Everyone seems to think you are in a competition with them......and I am like, Oga, cool down. We are all working towards the same goal.

I think there's no competition in purpose, rather it should be collaboration. Do you, do me and let's achieve purpose.

One is in the same line of purpose with another person does not mean both individuals don't still have their unique spots and roles to play

Take a look at the teeth. When you look at them together, they look exactly the same and seem to be doing the same thing, but the truth is each tooth has its own role to play. The canines can not do the work of the premolars, likewise the premolars can not do the work of the canines. They all work together to fulfill one purpose.

See.....purpose is huge, it is more than any one person that want to decide to carry it on their head, trust me, they can't survive it.

Relationships and collaborations is what helps purpose to be fulfilled, that way, each person role is fully highlighted.

The key is being secure!!! If one is insecure, these things will definitely happen. One needs confidence.

Get paid living your purpose

Purpose is one the topics I don’t often discuss with people because everyone you meet has something to say about purpose. Everywhere you go church, school, conference etc. People talk about purpose in different way.

I have similar but different approach to discussing purpose, As an entrepreneur running two different businesses and pay salary in millions annually, I believe that without purpose you may not go for either as a career person of entrepreneur.

Excerpt:

I am glad to be with us tonight to discuss one of the most fundamental issue people face today. Get Paid Living Your Purpose

When I met Tolu Makinde some days ago and he reminded me of this training, I smiled and I said “purpose”…. He said humm .. like he has read my mind. He just stressed and say, I want you to let us know how to get paid living purpose.

Sincerely, Purpose is one the topics I don’t often discuss with people because everyone you meet has something to say about purpose. Everywhere you go church, school, conference etc. People talk about purpose in different way.

I have similar but different approach to discussing purpose, As an entrepreneur running two different businesses and pay salary in millions annually, I believe that without purpose you may not go for either as a career person of entrepreneur.

Let’s start with the word *Purpose* I want about 3 people to just give us any definition of purpose.

Purpose is the reason for your living, it's what gives meaning to your life. It is what you are created or called for.

Living Your Purpose - The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists

Let me ask you these questions:

             Why do you get out of bed in the morning?

             Why do you go school?

             Why are you doing what you are doing?

These are the questions we often think we all know the answers

Sincerely, the answers are not that simple

Each of us need to know the reason why we do what we do before being paid

Because it makes us stand out.

Your Purpose = Your Why

Every person’s career—operates on three levels: What we do, how we do it and why we do it. We all know what we do: the products we sell, the services we offer or the jobs we do but not the reason why we do what we do.

Until we know the WHY, we will not be living the purpose

And we will not be paid our worth

Let me tell you the story of Emily

A few months before she graduated from college, Emily applied for a position at a large global corporation. A straight-A student who had gone to university on a full scholarship, she easily made it through the first cut and now found herself in a panel interview, where she sat across the table from the HR director and three other executives. They could see from her application that she was bright, but they worried about her lack of real-world experience. More important, they wanted to find out if she would fit their culture and how she would cope under pressure.

The man in gray elaborated: “We have a lot of highly qualified applicants for this position. Tell us what you have that they don’t.”

A conscientious student, Emily had prepared for the interview by learning everything she could about the company. But every other candidate had access to the same information. So Emily went a step further. Emily unleashed her WHY.

“Before I talk about what I might be able to bring to your company,” she calmly told the HR director, “let me first give the reason I get out of bed every day. “I strive to help people be the best version of themselves. That’s what inspires me. Based on your website, I sense that this is precisely what you believe in too. So, why wouldn’t I apply to be part of your organization?”

“let me first give the reason I get out of bed every day. “I strive to help people be the best version of themselves. That’s what inspires me. Based on your website, I sense that this is precisely what you believe in too. So, why wouldn’t I apply to be part of your organization?”

That caught their attention.

The interviewers stopped shuffling their papers and looked her in the face. Emily then segued to a more traditional pitch about her skills and strengths, but the battle was already won. That first exchange, which lasted less than thirty seconds, had already persuaded the interviewers to hire her.

By starting with her WHY, Emily had spoken directly to the limbic, decision-making centers of their brains. By showing who she was, not just what she could do, she formed an instant and genuine connection. That’s all it took. They knew in their gut that they wanted her on their team.

It was relatively straightforward for Emily too. Instead of using prep time to come up with clever answers to a host of hypothetical questions, she’d focused on being comfortable with communicating her WHY. Once she faced the panel, all she had to do was speak “from her heart” about what inspired her to want to work there. The rest of the interview felt much more like a conversation than an inquisition and all her answers validated the panelists’ intuition. Afterward, her cell phone rang before she even got home. It was the HR director offering her the job

When you know the reason for doing what you are doing: People will BUY into YOU and You will GET PAID Handsomely

So the first thing first is Find YOUR WHY

Most times what I hear people talk purpose what they say is follow your passion. Each time I hear people say this I just smiled.

Cal Newport says “Follow your passion” is bad advice. I reached this conclusion after spending a year researching a basic question: What makes people love what they do for a living? This research turned up two strikes against the idea of following passion. First, it turns out that few people have pre-existing passions that they can match to a job. Telling them to “follow their passion,” therefore, is a recipe for anxiety and failure.

I believe what Cal said because, I have seen a lot people who are passionate about the wrong purpose. There is always one thug away from your environment who is passionate extorting money from conductors in the name of NURTW, political thugs and so many. The issue is not being passionate but genuinely guide ourselves towards our WHY.

So, I concluded that Purpose is NOT about you, it’s about other PEOPLE.

What can you do for other people to solve their problem, to alleviate their pain. To make the happy and fulfilled

To support their aspirations…

To help them achieve their goals.

If you can find out this for yourself, you will be paid beyond your wildest dream and you will be living your purpose

If you are an entrepreneur or business owner like me. Focus on the people you serve

Never think you are not entrepreneur

Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize winner The Microfinance Pioneer, says, “All human beings are entrepreneurs. When we were in the caves, we were all self-employed… finding our food, feeding ourselves. That’s where human history began. As civilization came, we suppressed it. We became ‘labor’ because they stamped us, ‘You are labor.’ We forgot that we are entrepreneurs.”

That's why we need to discover our why for ourselves and our business like Apple, Google, Motivated Mankind, etc

The place of purpose in relationships

Human beings are social and sentimental beings.

Relationships in our lives is a fundamental need, we have been created like that.

Kelly Benamati wrote "Relationships show us how to love and be loved, as well as whom we want to be on life and who we don't. Having serious trusting relationship allows us to truly be our true selves.

Who kind of relationship do you want?

Relationship could be in many forms Family, Friendship or Business among others.

Excerpt:

What is relationship?

Relationship is a connection or association.  The condition of bring related.

It could also mean a way in which two or more people behave and are involved with each other

And what is purpose?

Purpose is defined as an object to be reached, a target; an aim; a goal; an intention.

So we could say the place of purpose in a relationship can be likened to Goals, Aims, and Intention of a relationship

Why do we need relationship anyways?

Human beings are social and sentimental beings.

Relationships in our lives is a fundamental need, we have been created like that.

Relationship could be in many forms Family, Friendship or Business among others

However, whatever type of relationship it is, it must be purposeful i.e. it must have a target, an aim

Relationship purpose differs, for some it is for fun, fame, pleasure, companionship, for some it's for fulfillment while for some it's strictly for business.

So my question here is.... When we get into any relationship at all, what goals do we plan to achieve?

It is important to know that a relationship without purpose is like a building without foundation

Some of the relationship does not lead to marriage, and some will still lead to marriage..... And so on

If you don't get your purpose right before entering into any relationship, Short term or long term... Then you are doomed...you are done for.

Before entering into any relationship therefore, there are certain things you must know......

*you must know yourself

*You must understand yourself

*You most discover yourself

And most importantly, you must love yourself.

Let me analyze this as a musician.....

As a musician, you must know your lyrics.... Master your lines....know your right key and sing the song perfectly by yourself

Getting into a relationship is like getting a backup singer for your song

All a backup singer does is basically to compliment the song you as the soloist can sing perfectly by yourself

All we do for each other in a relationship is complement each other’s life which eventually completes who you really are

You don't come into a relationship to discover yourself..... NO....

You do that way back before entering.....

Little wonder why a lot of people get disappointed early in marriage, they enter into it with all the wrong intentions. Intentions such as...

I am not happy alone. I need someone in my life to be happy.....

I need love; I can only get that in my partner after marriage.

These are wrong... So wrong

You should know that you are the sole agency for your happiness, and then you can now become the complimenting agency for others

We are first of all meant to be there for ourselves i.e. Itunu is always there for Itunu so if no one else is, I'm still fine.

It is making sure I am taking full responsibility for my emotional needs and well-being and then investing in others

In a nutshell, practicing love of self and others certainly makes life a little richer (note the "richer", a step above "rich" which you must have being) and that's probably enough reason

In order to show love to others, you need to love yourself first. *Self-love* "Love your neighbor as yourself" is what the scripture says.

Many people don't know how to love others because they don't have that love in them.

Let me summarize all I've been saying before we proceed......

The purpose of your relationship should be...

Practicing love of self and then others, remember "love your neighbor as YOURSELF"*

Enjoy life together while complimenting each other.

A lot of us have had our "already designed" purpose; outlined to suit us when we get into a relationship

Let me shock you by saying: *one way to be happy in a relationship is to use the relationship for their intended purpose not for our designed purpose*

Relationship calls you to express a higher version of you.  It will definitely be challenging, but it's worth a try because really, no man is an island on his own.... We all need people (others) to survive... We need relationships to thrive and bring out the shine in us

Most relationships fail, (in actual sense, relationship never truly fail, except in the strict human sense that they did not produce what you want, they did not meet your designed purpose) they fail because they were entered into for the very wrong reasons

Most people get into a relationship with an eye and a mind towards what they can get out of them, rather than what they can put into them

The purpose of a relationship is to decide what part of yourself you'd like to "show up", not part of another you can capture and hold.

I have come to discover that there can only be one purpose for relationship and for all life and that is to be and to decide who you really are.

You have to discover the you in you

The purpose of a relationship is therefore not to have another who might complete you; rather it is to have another with whom you might share your completeness.

Finally, the purpose of a successful relationship depends on how much of you (time, talent, treasure) you are willing to give out to keep the relationship alive and strong.

People believe relationships are meant to compliment them and make up their weaknesses.

Instead Relationships reveals your weaknesses more.

To love is nothing, to be loved is something: but to love and to be loved, that's everything T. Tolis.

Question 1:

What do you advice those in a relationship for the wrong purpose and find it hard to leave because they both have history together?

Answer:

If it's married couple, then keep perching as God hate divorce

But if it's courting couple, I'd like them to remember that your purpose drives you to your destiny but your history together is already in the past

Question 2:

I used to think relationship is to compliment each other's weakness as no one is perfect...isn't that the case?

Answer:

As long has the relationship has not been sealed, Knowledge is power. It's known by them that it's for the wrong purpose.... Just get out of it and be ready to tread a new path to your destiny

We complement each other in a relationship but what I'm driving at is that strive to know your strength and your weakness.  Appreciate both parts of you.... Work on your strength and your weakness.

Yes... Relationship is meant to compliment you but you have to work on your weaknesses first and be *'Single' 'whole'* first, or else you will ruin the relationship with your weaknesses such as anger, laziness, unforgiveness, nagging, pride, self-centeredness, low self-esteem, and so on.

The place of purpose in business and ministry

The more problems you solve the richer you become.

Every profession is solving a problem and meeting a need.

Such as Accounting, farming, teaching, fashion designing, trading, banking, engineering, and many more.

You are born to solve one problem or the other.

If you don't know the problem you are born to solve yet, it means you are yet to discover yourself....

You need to discover yourself to know the problem you are to solve.

I understanding the place of purpose in business and ministry I will be discussing on 3 main key

*Problem

*People

*Place

Excerpt:

If you were asked to define a business, the first thing that could come to your mind quickly is a physical set-up, an imagined organization or a visible enterprise.

There are two perspectives of business; we have the enterprise perspective and activity perspective.

The Enterprise Perspective defines business as that organization that make, distribute or provides any goods or services which the society need and are willing and able to pay the price such as Google, Amazon, Cocacola, Unilever, etc.

The Activity Perspective defines business as the human activities that engage the person using his or her skills and capacities to add value to a process in return for which he or she gets a reward e.g. Painting, Teaching, Farming, Trading, etc.

In general, a business is any activities or enterprise that solves a problem in order to make profit.

So if you are not making profit, you are not doing business.

While Ministry is anything you do that promotes the kingdom of God or propagate God's kingdom on earth.

The place of purpose in business and ministry is that, no one is born useless, everyone has something to offer.

Every child born is a solution to someone's problem.

And a business is all about solving problems and getting paid for it.

The richest people in the world are looking for problems to solve to create wealth.

You can mention their names.

*Problem

*People

*Place

I have discussed on Problem

If you have read my book The Science of Prosperity you will understand how to solve problem to create wealth.

Rick Warren said, *"Life is a series of problem-solving opportunities. The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you depending on how you respond to them."*

Problems can be an opportunity for greatness; every problem is a stepping stone to a greater height.

*The greatest success stories were created by people who recognized a problem and turned it into an opportunity.*

Blessings are problems in disguise, problems are everywhere and they can never cease in the existence of man, as the solution to a problem may become a problem that requires another solution to address, and on it goes.

You have to identify the problem you can solve to start your business and ministry.

The equation for the creation of wealth is as follows;

Problem   >  Solution     >   Value    >  Wealth

You are rewarded in kind or in cash for every problem you solve.

Now I will be moving on to *People*.

Though you are born to solve a problem but you are sent to a particular kind of people.

If your business is for everyone then you are not in business

You have to know your clients / customers.

When you discover the problem you are to solve the next thing to find out is who those that need my service are.

Not everyone in the market is your customer...

This is the flow....

Suspects (All in the market)  >  Prospects (People in market area with a need for your products/service) > Hot Leads (People in the market area with the ability to pay > Actual Customers (People in the market with a need, who have the ability to pay)

You need to identify the *People* you are sent to, who needs your service and can afford it.

Then profile them

I am moving to *place*...

Once you have identified the problem, people, then u have to locate your place.

Because a Man in his rightful place can never be displaced

Your place is your location.

Your location determines your allocation

God placed you in a place to find purpose…

If you embrace the place He has placed you,

You will embrace the purpose He has placed you there.

Don't be in a haste to leave the place God has placed you probably because you haven't found your desired result.

Spend time on it because what you spend time on will definitely grow and hatch.

It's like the Hen sitting on her eggs to hatch them.

Once she starts laying, she will never move them away to find another place for any reason.

Before laying her eggs, she first looks for a suitable place to lay and brood her eggs.

You need to do that.

I get surprised when I ask young people that "Which job or business will you like to do" and they say ANYONE.

My dear, you can't do any job or business

You have to find the job or business in line with your passion and you have the potential for...

Or else you will be frustrated in life.

The same applies to ministry

There is a place of purpose in business and ministry...

The Journey To Purpose Discovery

The focus of my session tonight is the word *journey*

Purpose is your essence, why you're here, why God created you.

Journey: something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another.

I'm deeply convinced that purpose discovery is more of a journey than it is an event.

Excerpt:

By the way, I appreciate the facilitators of the two previous sessions. Thanks so much and God bless you.

The focus of my session tonight is the word *journey*

Purpose is your essence, why you're here, why God created you.

That much is clear by now I believe…

OK, here's what Merriam Webster Dictionary has to say about *journey*

Journey: something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another.

I'm deeply convinced that purpose discovery is more of a journey than it is an event.

In order words, you don't discover purpose in one flash moment like many people make it seem.

You discover purpose gradually through time and process.

You discover purpose as you journey through your path in life.

Yes, you can have flash moments of inspiration where you just gain insight into you purpose. But it gets clearer as you journey.

No man has it all clear in just one moment.

*Purpose is uncovered as you journeyed through the phases and places of your life. Purpose discovery is really in the journey. It's not an instantaneous event. Every step of the way is an important piece of the jigsaw puzzle.*

Your purpose is already embedded inside of you; it's an intricate part of your divine make up. It's not outside of you.

But you will need to follow the innate compass inside you to uncover it. And that's all in the journey to purpose discovery.

I love the way T. D. Jakes puts it in his New York Times bestseller classic, INSTINCT: "God, the master designer, has equipped us with a fundamental Instinct that draws us to our divine purpose."

You simply need to follow the deepest resonations of your heart. Your heart will always be drawn to where you truly belong.

As you journey, all of this will begin to piece together.

OK, let me share a bit of my story to put this in perspective.

I studied Electrical Engineering in Lagos State Polytechnic. I did ND (National Diploma).

Well, along the way, I fell in love with software programming. I can't go into all the intricate details.

Long story short, I ended up studying Computer Sciences (which to a large extent is about programming) in the University of Lagos.

Don't get me wrong. I gave UNILAG my best shot. I finished with a *4.42* CGPA.

But I knew programming is not what i want to do with a major part of my life.

Today though, I'm still actively involved in the IT world. In fact, I have a business that provides ICT service. *Barastreams*.

But I don't program computers. At least, not the core programming… I program lives. I program minds.

The part I didn't mention in my entire previous story is that I've been teaching/speaking and dealing with lives since 2004.

Every time I'm in classroom, it's like fish in water.

Every time I have opportunity to share my thoughts and transformation ideas with people, it blesses me real good.

Today, the major things I do revolves around helping people navigate life.

I'm a human capacity builder at core

You see, all of that has gotten clearer through the years.

I have had moments of doubts. I have had moments when I was like am I on the right track.

But all of that has contributed to helping me gain clarity regarding my purpose.

The point I'm making is: as I have journeyed through life, Purpose has become clearer to me.

Same is true for you.

So don't be too caught up in trying to find your purpose.

Just follow the rhythm as you journey through life.

That rhythm will lead you to places that align with your purpose.

So here's my summary:

If you've been asking the question how do I discover purpose, here's what I suggest.

*Allow yourself explore.

Yes, that will take time, but it's all part of the journey of discovery.

Be free to try your hands on different kind of experiences. You may never know where you belong until you find yourself in a certain environment.

And when that happens, boom! Your instinctive sense will come alive and deep within you will know you're in your divinely designed habitat.

*Pay attention to your talents, gifts, personality and passion.

Pay attention to the kind of people and places you're attracted to. Pay attention to the things that draw and stir your heart.

All of those are clues to following the voice of instinct that help uncover your purpose.

All of those will help piece things together as you journey. I hope that helps.

The end

QUESTION 1:

What is difference between purpose and calling?

ANSWER:

Well, I'm not so tied up with semantics.

So, essentially, Purpose and calling are cords of the same intertwined rope.

They both point to what God will have you do with your life.

QUESTION 2:

Sir, since purpose is a journey, what can I do if I find myself in a position that is not meant for me?

For instance, I graduated from an Art department in Sec School because my teacher and parent made me to do Art because I wasn't good in some science subjects, but I have passion to be a mechanic engineer.

ANSWER :

Beautiful question... My answer my shift some fundamental paradigm.

I don't believe any path is a waste in *the big picture* of things.

Yes, you might have found yourself studying a course that you don't like at a depth. But look again. That's something you need to pick in that path you went through.

It might take years for the puzzle to all come together, but I assure you, there are some lesson, some knowledge, some skill, and some relationships those ‘wrong’ paths you found yourself has brought to your life, that will be needed in fulfilling your purpose ultimately.

So 1st of all, the person with such story should accept and appreciate his/her reality, with the consciousness that it's not all wasted.

Now, if he then need to change direction, it's all good. I did change direction a no of times as I shared in my story.

I also know people who have changed direction too. One of my course mates in LASPOTECH (Electrical Engineering) was a commercial student in secondary school.

And it's never too late to take a turn.

It's all part of the journey

QUESTION 3:

Thank u sir God bless u.

Because many of us find ourselves studying a course in school we will never use...

After graduation we start thinking of what we want to use our lives to do, and sometimes we get confused or frustrated when we are trying things that never worked.

No problem sir... We all appreciate you for creating the time to enlightening us on the journey to purpose discovery, despite your tight schedule.

God bless u richly sir

ANSWER:

We must come to terms with the reality of today's world. Like you said, many are studying a course they will end up not using. Globally, Career tangent is taking a drastic turn.

But it still doesn't mean it's a total waste. It's about making the best of every experience or wherever we find ourselves.

Keep one mind though that the disruption in the career globally also presents great opportunities. One of such is that it's easier than ever to switch career paths. Another is that it's easier to merge two or more career worlds together.

In fact the nature of the careers of today & the future will be so ubiquitous that you can't just say I am an Accountant or I studied Law. You will have to be able to connect your accounting with IT with human resource management. That's just an example.

I share more on this in my free ebook, *Things I Wish I Knew Before Tertiary School*.

The place of purpose in career

Purpose is a plan set to be achieved

I am seeing vision from our definition

It is like we want to keep it short and simple

Purpose means what you have been destined to become in life.

Purpose: Reason and intent / intention

Now from the definition above, we all agree that purpose must exist before career?

Well for me purpose is knowing why a thing should be done BEFORE it is done,

......but let us be sincere how many of us actually and sincerely choose the career path that we find ourselves.

Well from the definition above I want you to know that it is totally different.

That is what the first person definition means is different from the second person.

I see career as what a person does to earn a living

We should also kindly take note that career is different from ambition and it is also different from purpose … Although it looks alike

Before I proceed I would want us to look at three concepts given to us from the topic...

PLACE

PURPOSE

CAREER

Place: This can be said to be a location

....but for the purpose of this teaching I would want to define place as a stand point, an affirmation and a hold

From this definition above we can deduce that what you do whether you like it or not is your career as long as that career can pay the bills.

To be sincere with you that where most of us find ourselves in the world today

That's why a person who really Yoruba education will be working in bank and the person don’t mind at all

This definition of career is also correct because if I choose to be a teacher and I am now a teacher it means I have a career.

Therefore if we are to back to our topic of discussion we need to know that you must have a purpose why you do what you do at your place of work.

Yes, you can't discover purpose outside the creator.

In fact to be sincere if you don't have a relationship with the creator you are living a life of a circle no beginning, no end.

Look at Bill Gate...

I am not sure of his relation with God

Ellen DeGeneres

She was the one that made President Obama change his stand on LGBT

Therefore I will be talking or laying emphasis on.

Nuggets of having a purposeful career

Now for people like me who don't really like what I do but just have to do it for the main time please pay attention to me.

For those who are enjoying what they do I congratulate you.

Before choosing a career you must first identify.

1) Your place of strength

2) Your place of interest

3) Understand the difference between the two

Place of strength:

This is a point at which you can do anything even if you don't get paid for it.

It is a point where you don't struggle with anything.

It is a point where what you do gives you joy.

It is a place you can die for...

It is a place where you will remain sleepless and restless till you attain perfection.

Place of Interest:

It is a place where you just like that thing at the surface level but you don't have that capacity to carry on it.

Therefore understanding the difference between what you can die for and what you can't die for and sticking to it is what makes you wise.

Therefore the question is ...

Can you continue that career of you are no longer being paid?

I have told some people before and I am saying it now.

No job can meet your needs 100%

Therefore I will send a video after this teaching foe us to decide if we will continue in what we are doing or not.

If the purpose while you are working is just to make money...

I am not sorry to tell you this, you are doing yourself more harm than good.

Even if you don't like the career enjoy the job.

Learn something new from it on daily basis.

For my fellow Christians and Muslims we have a belief that where we are is a preparation for where we are going to.

Make the best of everything you are doing there.

If we centralized on understanding the purpose before going for a job we might age and not be useful again.

While you are on the career that you don't like start making plans to move ahead and discover careers that you like.

Build yourself while you are still in search of the career.

Get a mentor on that field.

Do underground survey.

And know how you can easily divert to your dream job.

If you need to read further please go ahead.

Never spend a day without adding value to yourself.

Let me something I discovered in the hard way about life.

The only person that you need to compete with is who you were yesterday

The only person that you need to be better than is who you were better than yesterday

And that person is you...

When nobody becomes your yard stick for success, you will succeed well and faster.

When the reason why you want to proceed in life is because you want to make yourself proud then you have begin the journey of living a purposeful life and career.

I would like to stop here for the main time

Living a purpose-driven life

Purpose is the original intention in the heart of the Creator for a Creature.

Every creature created by the creator was created for a purpose.

Purpose is that specific assignment you were born to fulfill.

Sometimes we worry on what we want to do in life, the school to go, what to study, where to work and many other affairs of life.

Life is more than go to school, graduate, get a job, get married, have children and die. There is more to this life.

Excerpt:

Have you been asking yourself a lot of questions about what purpose is all about?

Purpose is the original intention in the heart of the Creator for a Creature.

Every creature created by the creator was created for a purpose.

Purpose is that specific assignment you were born to fulfill.

Sometimes we worry on what we want to do in life, the school to go, what to study, where to work and many other affairs of life.

Life is more than go to school, graduate, get a job, get married, have children and die. There is more to this life.

Many of us are used to asking this question from our childhood...

What do you want to be in life?

What do I want to be when I grow up?

The reason many are not living their purpose is because we are asking the wrong question.

This question should be - What does God want me to be in future?

Because God is our source and He created us for a reason...

Only the creator knows the purpose of the creation.

Every life begins with God. You didn't create yourself...

Your creator knew you before you were born. He alone knows what you were created for.

You may be asking...

What of those who don't believe in God or a creator.

What of those who believe in the big bang theory, the evolution or something?

But are they not living their purpose... Since they achieve a lot of things.

The Purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal ambitions and dreams.

They may achieve some things but it is nothing compared to the original purpose for their lives.

If the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable.

If you don't know the purpose of a cutlery fork, you will use it to till the ground as a garden fork...

Maybe because they look alike

If u don't know the purpose of a microwave, you can put it on ur table and be watching it like a TV.

In order to live a purpose-driven life, you must be conscious of ur creator.

Even though he has a purpose for you, He will never force you to live it bcos you have a choice.

Because He is so merciful, He has given us some pointers to guide us to discover our purpose and  fulfill it.

Your special abilities (Potential) is a pointer to your purpose.

Your potential is your gift, your hidden talent, your untapped energy.

They are things you find yourself doing with ease.

God who created you has equipped you with the necessary abilities to fulfill that purpose.

Most time we admire the gifts and abilities of successful people and neglect the ones that God has given to us.

To every purpose, there is a gift...

And to every gift, there is a purpose.

Is just that some people find their gift first before their purpose.

While some who find their purpose first need to discover the gift to fulfill it.

God cannot send you on as assignment without giving you the tools to accomplish it.

Your gifts are tools to fulfill your purpose.

Anything God did not give you, it is because you don't need it to fulfill your own purpose.

Look inward and discover, develop and deploy that hidden gifts, potential and abilities God has given to you.

In order to live a purpose-driven life, you need to Watch your *Relationship s* and *Association*

You need to associate with like-minds going in the same direction with you.

As long as I love to network, I am always selective in my networking... I try to know more about you, and your passion.

The right Association gives you Acceleration in life.

I have come to realize that God intentionally bring some people into your life for a reason  and a season to be a blessing to you.

There are two kinds of people in this life,

the purpose driven people and the pleasure driven people.

If I may ask... Which one are you?

Are you a pleasure driven person that always live in the present to enjoy every moment regardless of the future?

Or are you a purpose-driven person who thinks of the future and where you are going in life.

You are always conscious of why you are on earth and what you are expected to do.

Living a purpose driven life gives meaning to your life.

Everything we experience in life as a way of contributing to our makeup.

God deliberately allow you to experience some things in life to build you to be what he has destined you to be.

In order to live a purpose-driven life, you must always have the habit of asking the *WHY* question

Such as, Why am I here?

And the only person that can answer that question  is God, your creator

And not your parents or brothers or sisters or friends

God is a all-knowing God. He knows the beginning from the end, and the end from the beginning.

He knows the best education, career, profession and relationship that will help you to fulfill purpose.

Unfortunately, Many people are in the wrong education, career, profession, or relationship because of the wrong advice from our parents, brothers or sisters or friends.

Let me remind you that many people have died without fulfilling purpose. This is because they did not care to discover it and live it.

As I conclude, you can't find purpose outside God  - Your creator and source.

You can choose to agree with God and live that life he has designed for you which can bring joy, and fulfillment, or you can choose to disagree with him and live your own life which can never be compared to what God has for you.

Your decision today determines your destination tomorrow.

Make the right choice today and live a purpose driven life.

You can drop your questions...

I will close with this quote.

"Persistent Passionate Pursuit of Purpose is the key to Success" - Tolulope Makinde

QUESTION 1

I want you to expatiate more about "potential". Specifically the word gift

ANSWER:

Your potential is your hidden gift, your inborn ability and talent.

It is what you can do.

How do you identify your potential? Your potential is that thing which you do with ease or do without struggle.

Sometimes you just see yourself doing things others have to learn to do, and you do them perfectly well.

Your potential is also known as gift or talent.

There are two categories of talent, the inborn talent and the acquired talent.

There is a need for you to discover your talent early so that you can develop them into a skill.

Your gifts and talents define the tasks, jobs and careers you have the natural ability to be great at.

QUESTION 2:

What about people with multiple gifts?

Can you please share with us how to harness and manage those gifts?

Because every gift given to human is meant to be developed and used

ANSWER:

It is very important to know how to harness and manage those gifts because the market place is after your competency, what you have to offer, or what you can do.

Getting a successful career job does not depend upon your school certificate alone, you must discover what you can do and develop your competency in it.

The two types of talents are Natural or Inborn talents and Acquired Talents:

  1. Your natural or inborn talents: Inborn talents are those gifts and potentials you are born with, that you did not necessarily learn or acquire from anywhere.

You just find yourself doing it from childhood. This can also get you a good job and you can also start up your own business with it.

  1. Your acquired talents: These are those abilities or skills you acquire through trainings.

You learnt it and you are so perfect and competent in it.

You can acquire as many talents as you desire.

Everyone has things that come easily to them. Things they do that are almost effortless yet create amazing results.

The tasks you excel at reveal your natural gifts and talents. They describe what you are naturally great at doing. If you develop them and put them to work, you have the beginning of a great career or business.
