Lagos Business School Young Talents Programme 2019

The purpose of the LBS Young Talents two-day programme is to help the school establish an ongoing relationship with the brightest university students in the country prior to and after their graduation from the university. The primary objective of engaging with these talented students is to expose them to a world-class institution and shortlist suitable candidates for the LBS Management Scholarship Academy. We will also welcome candidates that could become future administrative staff and ultimately faculty members. This programme would help the school build a pipeline of bright academics for the African continent.

The LBS Young Talents’ Programme will:

  • Introduce participants to life in LBS as a faculty member, researcher and admin staff.
  • Introduce participants to a career in Management research and teaching.
  • Expose participants to the channels within the school for embracing an academic career: Management Scholarship Academy and the LBS PhD programme.
  • Discuss about the LBS culture, history and inspiration.
  • Build a network of young talents who can also be part of the MBA programme.


  • The candidate should not be above 30 years old.
  • The programme is open to final year undergraduates and Masters Students, youth corps members, and recent graduates.
  • These students should be on or have graduated with a first class or second class upper.

Submissions for World Summit Award 2018 for Young Digital Entrepreneurs can contain all digital content with a clear impact, such as: apps, webpages, applications for wearables, kiosk installations, SMS based products, mobile and online games and interactive productions. Eligibility Requirements:

  • The WSA Young Innovators Award  is limited to projects initiated and executed by people under the age of 30 from any of the UN and UNESCO member states.

Apply: Food Connection Challenge 2018

Applicants are invited to apply for the Food Connection Challenge 2018 to solve post-harvest losses on company level through the development of innovative ideas. The Food Connection Challenge is an initiative of BoP Innovation Center and Crosswise Works. Two separate challenges take place simultaneously in Nigeria and Benin. Are you an SME in Nigeria or Benin, active in the agric & food sector and struggling with issues related to storing, processing, cleaning, grading, handling or transporting of (processed) agricultural products?

Join the Food Connection Challenge!

In 2018, the Food Connection Challenge calls upon SMEs in Nigeria and Benin to submit their innovative ideas to reduce post – harvest losses. You will benefit from workshops, training sessions, innovation jams and remote coaching to improve you r ideas and turn them into a business plan that is ready to be implemented . The best plans will be pitched at a final event . If you win you will receive matching funding from the Postharvest Network to realize your plans , up to a maximum of €20,000.

Eligibility criteria:

1. Your enterprise is formally registered in Nigeria
2. Your enterprise is an ‘SME’: a company with less than 250 employees
3. Your enterprise exists for at least 2 years and has a minimum turnover of 5.000,00 euros per
4. Your enterprise is producing food products and/or provides services to a food value chain in
5. The food value chain your enterprise is participating in/offering services to provides food for
the Nigerian market or its neighbouring countries
6. The enterprise has identified one person who will participate on behalf of the enterprise
7. The participant is able to travel to and be present in Ibadan and/or Lagos during the events
of the Food Connection Challenge
8. The application provides enough concrete information to make a qualitative evaluation

Evaluation criteria:

1. The post-harvest loss problem is clear and well defined
2. The first description of the idea is elaborate and convincing on how the idea impacts the
broader value chain
3. The idea is innovative, sustainable, replicable and translatable into a business model
4. The participant has the right resources (team, skills, etc.) to implement the solution that will
be developed during the challenge

ScaleUp Lab is a unique Accelerator Programme aimed at providing targeted support to early-stage high-potential and growth-driven ventures within the growth sectors of the Nigerian economy namely; Agribusiness, Creatives, Health and Education. The programme is implemented by FATE Foundation and supported by Africa Capital Alliance (ACA) Foundation.

Programme Sessions: The sessions are designed for capacity building through workshop and coaching sessions, peer learning and feedback, one-to-one mentoring and a tailored follow-up on each company’s progress. Entrepreneurs will have opportunities to meet and interact with several entities including partners, mentors, investors, and experienced entrepreneurs. Apply: Nigerian Bottling Company Youth Empowered Programme 2018

Nigerian Bottling Company Youth Empowered Program is a 3-days workshop in four locations designed to support young unemployed people between the ages of 18-30 to build life skills, business skills and long-lasting networks to transition to meaningful employment or to start a business.

The goal of the project is to train 100,000 of young Nigerians by 2020 and empower them with the skills needed to succeed in the workplace and business environment.

The Program is expected to run through two different but complementary channels: Live training workshops and e-learning modules on the platform of the digital hub. The second edition of the program will be held in four locations. They are Benin, Ibadan, Kaduna and Enugu while the digital hub is open to all young Nigerians all over the country.

The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (“LSETF” or “the Fund”), was established by The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Law 2016 to provide financial support to residents of Lagos State, for job, wealth creation and to tackle unemployment. LSETF serves as an instrument to inspire the creative and innovative energies of all Lagos residents and reduce unemployment across the State.

The Fund has the mandate to directly invest ₦25Billion in helping Lagos residents grow and scale their Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (“MSMEs”) or acquire skills to get better jobs.

The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund is calling on Lagosians to apply for its recently launched Lagos State Employability Support Project (LSESP) to train and place 10,000 people in jobs in the following fie sectors of the economy:

Fully Funded to travel to London: 2018 British Councils’ Future Leaders Connect Program for emerging policy leaders Worldwide at House of Parliament in London

The Future Leaders Connect Programme aims to provide future leaders with skills and international networks which will improve their ability to make or influence policy changes, leading to long term impact on the social and economic development in their countries and beyond.

The project is being undertaken to support the development of future policy makers in key countries, aiming to help them become exceptional leaders. The Programme is run by the British Council, 10 Spring Gardens, London SW1A 2BN, United Kingdom.

  • To take part you must be aged 18-35 and be based in one of the participating countries – Canada, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tunisia, UK and USA.
  • You should be able to demonstrate your policy knowledge and senior leadership potential in your application.
  • Applications from Egypt, India and USA are by invitation only.


  • You should be able to passionately explain how you want to make change in your country and how this links to your vision for global change.
  • You should have an understanding of policy and are interested in learning more about policy making.
  • You should be willing to engage in this long-term opportunity with the British Council to become a member of Future Leaders Connect and be committed to the network.
